You found a makeshift heart in a forgotten subway station So you pulled it apart to find the pieces you could save But all the pieces felt like crystal condensation All the pieces had their history engraved And the days roll by So you kissed the parts and laid them by the window In the hope the heart would someday see the sun But all the pieces turned to rust and ran their colors All the pieces slowly melted into none And the days roll by And you fear you're falling

I waste my energy on a woman She does not deserve it - ever She made a choice and I’ll stick, stick to it She is destroying me Enough of the monotony To which she exercises This numbifying ecstasy She has resided in my heart I shall not speak her name- ever, ever It’s poison on my lips I could easily surrender to you

What you see is what you get is not what you want and so I wonder, where we go from here considering our time is precious and that nothing that you see in here makes you smile What you see is what you get is not what you want and so I wonder, where we go from here considering our lives are precious and that everything you see out there makes you smile

Your beauty's a burden, it's one you carry well You're strong and assertive, it's no wonder I fell The laughter's returning, and I feel this could go far So take me, I'm yearning, I'm yearning to touch the stars Would you try with me We could steal the sun, and then make a run for it. Our story's unfolding, it carries us through the years. This daylight so golden, melts away the fears The fire's still burning, in our souls and our hearts Loving and learning, we're learning to touch the stars Would you try with me We could steal the sun, and then make a run for it. And could you die with me We could steal the sun, and then make a run for it

about

Songs for Summer Rain has a dark, cinematic, brooding feel to it, all the while showing a glimmer of hope.

Originally inspired by my African childhood, (growing up in Zambia), I recall the 8 months or so, of hot and dry. Then the wind would change, and we could smell the rain in the air. Looking out over the plains, we would see the thunderheads coming our way, so exciting.
And when the storm hit, us kids would run wild in the rain.

These childhood memories, mixed with months of lock-downs, inspired me to write and produce an album that I am more than proud of.
Enjoy, and let me know what you feel when listening to it.
